Leah Hillman is the first girl to throw a javelin over 30 metres in 2011. Leah is just 12 years old and has already won numerous gold medals at different athletics competitions across the country.
The sun was directly behind Leah's head and the camera was exposed for the sky. To put enough fill in flash on Leah, two SB900s were used to the right of camera on full power.

Alice Chadwick celebrates her 100th birthday at Blackburn golf course. Alice joined the golf club in 1940 and continued to play golf at the club until she turned 90.

Pressure has built on Steve Kean over the past few months to quit as Manager of Blackburn Rovers, from fans as well as the press.
2011 World Gravy Wrestling Championships.
The annual championship was again held at the Rose n Bowl pub in Lancashire. Hundreds of people gathered to watch entrants wrestle in a pool full of gravy for two minutes at a time.
